Environmental Damage can be a very challenging area for property owners. In many cases, damage is unknown for periods of time and discovered only after it has worsened. One of the reasons for delays in discovery is that Environmental Damage may not be visible through casual property inspections or through normal use of the property. This can be especially true of chemical leaching. Environmental Damage Assessments should be performed immediately if signs of such damage become apparent. Typically, engineering studies will be required to support monetary damage appraisals. Environmental Damage Assessments should not be trusted to the unqualified real estate professional.
